Black History Found and Forged: Chronicling the East Marshall Street Well Project
On February 1, 2025, the Health Humanities Lab as well as representatives from the community met to contextualize the history of the East Marshall Street Well Project and discussed efforts to create oral history and memorialization projects that work toward reparative justice.
8th Annual Pocahontas Reframed Film Festival
The 8th Annual Pocahontas Reframed Film Festival took place from November 22-24, 2024 at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. The festival highlights Native film, music and culture and is the only festival of its kind on the East Coast.
2024 History and Health Symposium
The 2024 History and Health Annual Symposium explored the history of reproductive healthcare and policies, the social determinants of health driving the current Black maternal health crisis, and strategies to ameliorate the health and healthcare disparities.
